A night in Seattle

We have been wanting to see the Harry Potter exhibit at the Pacific Science Center so we thought a 3 day weekend would be the perfect time. We also thought it would be fun to visit the big city. The kids loved it and we realize we need to go back and spend more time. Just walking on the street seeing all the buildings, people, and taxis was an experience. Driving and looking at the Space Needle, Safeco Field and Qwest field was also very exciting. We got up there late in the afternoon after basketball pictures. We found a restaurant for dinner and then went swimming in the hotel pool. The next morning was hotel breakfast(which my kids think is also really fun) and then the Science center. The Harry Potter exhibit was awesome!!!! We loved it. We also loved the Science center but could have spent more time there. We walked around a little and soaked in some sights. And we have decided to go back soon when we can really hit the tourist attractions!

I guess a Star Wars exhibit is coming next so the characters were roaming around getting everyone excited for that.

We promised the kids on our next trip we will go up to the top. Even Doug and I have never done that.

A trip to the snow

We really wanted to visit the snow before break was over. We didn't have to drive far. We stopped at Detroit Lake. They had at least a foot of snow and we were able to have lots of fun. The sledding was perfect for Jack because he likes to go slow. Ellie and I would have liked a better hill but we were able to have a great snowball fight. In fact in the end pictures you can see make up running on my face because I took a snowball right in the face. Ellie and Jack got pretty aggressive with the snowballs. At one point she was mad because Jack got her in the face and we told her not to get mad but to get even. The sleds made great shields and I was able to get some snow in Doug's ear. Ellie and I also made a great snowman and we found a HUGE snowball to climb on. What a fun way to end vacation!

So climbing up on things is alot easier when you are young.

Ringing in 2011

We went down to spend New Year's eve with our best friends in Eugene. We have spent the last few New Year's at home and told the kids 9:00 was when the year changed. Well they finally got to stay up until midnight. Funny that was pretty easy for them and a little harder for us adults. My kids love to hang out with their best friends who are really more like cousins. They even jumped on the trampoline even though it was freezing outside. We all cheered the new year and then we drove home to Salem. We had no traffic on the drive home, I guess not many people want to get on the interstate and drive at midnight.

Christy's Birthday

Happy Birthday Christy! So we all think December 26th is the perfect day for a birthday because it gives us girls the excuse to go to lunch and shopping all day. I have some of the greatest girlfriends and this is one of my favorite days! I went to college with Christy and Julie and they went to high school with Tish. We get a ton of great deals and have so much fun. Our lives are getting so busy it is one of the few days we get to catch up.
