Linfield Alum

We had a sports day at school. Since we have 3 teachers who are Linfield alumni we decided to wear Linfield gear. My kinder teaching partner also has her twins in my class so they wore Linfield attire too!

Little Ellie

I have an Ellie in my afternoon class(the girl on Ellie's right). She is the sweetest student and she adores my Ellie. Every day after school Ellie comes and gives her a big hug and waits with her for her mom. Then she walks her to her car and her brother and sister always have things to show Ellie. Their mom says it is the highlight of their day. They even play "big Ellie and little Ellie" at home. It is so sweet to see how good my girl is with these little ones. They came to watch Ellie swim one night. The little girls were mesmerized by Ellie swimming. She walked them out after practice and their mom told me they loved it.

Basketball

Ellie played basketball again. She had my college friends Drew and Renee as her coaches. She really enjoys it even though it is clear she is a swimmer not a basketball player. Once a week she doubled up practices and it always happened to be a really tough swim on the nights she also played basketball. I thought this might be the last season and I guess we will have to see what happens next year. It will probably depend on which swim practice team she is on. But she really enjoys basketball!

Basketball

I better recap basketball before the first baseball games start, so here goes. Jack was on a team with his best buddy Kian again. With the Boys and Girls Club he is in the 3/4 grade league. Which means he is very small compared to other kids. That can be a bit of a challenge in basketball. He is a good player, very good on defense. Mostly he lacks confidence on offense and tends to pass it off quickly. He enjoyed the season and since his team only had one 4th grader and the rest 3rd grade, next year should be even better.

The quality in this picture isn't great but I had to include it. The dark haired boy was the kid Jack was guarding and he set a screen on the other big one. He hung in there even though they more than doubled his weight. If he would use that same determination on offense he would be scoring a bunch.

Baby Shower

I helped out with a baby shower for my friend and Ellie's teacher Vanessa. I have worked with Vanessa for many years and this was a much anticipated baby(lots of years waiting). She is a great teacher and Ellie has loved being in her class. So it was a lot of fun that we could go together. Ellie was a big help bringing gifts back and forth. We are so excited for this baby!

Superbowl

We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon down in Eugene to watch the superbowl. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a blast playing outside, including a baseball game where Ellie was catcher. We had a little gambling pool(no Dacars won), ate lots of good food. The moms really enjoyed Madonna's halftime show!
