Ellie finally plays football!

So Ellie has been begging to play football for the last two years.  I never said no, I just kept reminding her how much she liked soccer.  Well finally she decided she didn't care about soccer.  So I decided we better let her try.  I didn't want her to be older thinking I always wanted to play football and my mom wouldn't let me.  I had a little apprehension about letting my daughter play football but she was so happy to be out there.  Of course, she does not care that she is the only girl.  She had her first practice game.  They don't have their real jerseys yet. Jack was playing at the exact same time so I don't have any pictures of him yet.  There will be plenty more time.  We will have games every Saturday from Sept. 12-Oct.31.  It's time to load the lawn chairs and blankets in the van and get ready for football season!

Summer fun with our friends

Max, Lucy, Ellie, Sam, Jack

We spent a great day with our very best friends the Fultons.  We went over to the Camp Harlow pool.  Then we played at their house while Julie taught me how to blog and make a photo album online.  Doug was still in North Carolina and we brought Brownie with me.  So I got talked into a sleepover.  I woke up early the next day to finish my photo album and now I am a blogging fiend.  We are lucky to have such great friends.  I love that the kids have such a good time together!

Sunriver 2009
So most of the Sunriver story is done a few posts.  I am just getting the hang of this.  Sunriver was a great vacation this year.  The kids loved it!  We got them matching Sunriver shirts to remember our special vacation(also it looks really cute in pictures).

The kids got their first thunder egg.  They could pick their own rock and he cut them right in the store!

They have stuffed guinea pigs on their heads.  Crazy kids.

They loved their thundereggs.

Grammy, Ellie, and Jack!

They had public service day in the Sunriver mall.  The kids got free snow cones, got to dunk a police man and sit on these cool rescue vehicles.

Right now both kids want to be firefighters!

We always get to have date night.  We want to dinner at RJB's and had drinks at the Owl's Nest!

I was loving the new ipod touch

Ice cream at Goody's and they got new stuffed guinea pigs.  A good day!

Sunriver

We love air hockey, hey Doug who won this game?  I actually did but I think it's the first time in 12 years of marriage I have ever beat Doug in air hockey.
Golfing
We even got Grammy on the Super Bikes at the arcade
Everyone tried out bumper cars
Ellie did the flowrider last year for the first time.  She was so much more confident this year. She even got up on her knees.  She loves to try new things.  It is so great to watch her blossom!

So I debated about putting this picture on.  On the one hand I wasn't excited about putting my butt out there.  But I wanted to prove I did it.  It is much harder than it looks.  My forearms and hands were shaking for at least an hour.  And boy was I sore.  But I'm glad I tried it out.

Jack went up one step and then wanted to pose for a picture!

Ellie did a great job.  What a tough girl!

Got to love this look!

They loved the bouncy house.

Sunriver

Enjoying the arcade!

Ellie and I did a one hour horse ride this year.  She loved it!

Jack on the pony

Grammy and the kids!

Ellie loves feeding and petting the horses!

Two years ago he wouldn't even go in the pool.  My how times have changed!

Ellie got a new bike.  We came home from camping to find her old bike was stolen off the front porch.  That meant we had a day to shop for a new bike.  We found this perfect bike for her.  It has gears and only hand brakes but she was ready for it.  She was so much more comfortable on her bike this year.  It was alot of fun to bike with her.

Jack has training wheels but he is doing so much better on his bike.  Sometimes I would have to jog to keep up with him.  He loves his bell!

Sunriver 2009
We have been going to Sunriver in the summer for quite a while now.  We did our first trip with kids when Ellie was a baby.  But then it got a little difficult to travel we had a few year break.  This was our fourth year in a row to go with my mom.  Each year has become more and more fun as the kids get older.  We are always so busy because there is so much to do.  And every year we leave thinking but we didn't get to do ....... But that's ok because we can go again next year.  Some highlights from this years' trip were:  swimming(lots of it!), biking(lots of it for both kids), horseback riding, miniature golf, bumper cars, the arcade, bouncy house, lava cast forest, ice cream, and of course the hot tub.  It is the best family vacation!  Thanks mom for taking us and making it possible!

Jack, Lucy and Brenden run from the waves

Ellie, Jack, and Sam (Hey are you voting people off yet??)

Julie and Pancho

The kids loved playing in the forested area around the campsite

They found hundreds of jellyfish and scooped them up and buried them, it is funny what kids will do for fun!

The first of many jellyfish

Digging for hours

Good friends!

The guys

Sorry Doug and Donnie but I had to do it, it was too funny not to put on my blog.  I think I just about peed my pants during this episode.
