It's AWESOME

This is the 4th year the kids have done the Awesome 3000. I am so proud of both of them. They both ran their school's jog-a-thon the day before so they had sore legs. Ellie even had softball practice the night before spending a great deal of time catching so she really had sore legs. It was a lot of fun! The weather was great and as always we saw tons of friends!

With the alligator mascot!
The third grade girls warming up.

With her red shorts crossing the finish line!
Tired but proud.

So Ellie has never been the greatest runner but she still loves this event. I love her enthusiasm for life!
We were so proud. When they left the stadium she was the second to last girl, however she finished in front of at least 30 girls. I think that's great for a kid who is a slow runner. She has a lot of tenacity!
Jack poured on so much steam at the end, my attempts at a shot of him crossing the finish line didn't work. This is walking through the end to get his medal. He has gray shorts with an orange stripe.
Jack has quite a determined will. He is a good runner and finished in the top 30 of about 100 first grade boys. Despite the fact that his legs were really sore and he has been battling allergies and asthma for the last couple of weeks. He told us when you look for me, "don't look at the back of the pack". After he was done he said he didn't even take the water break so he could pass more kids.
They are the biggest supporters of each other!
