At the end of January Ellie competed in a swim meet in Tigard. This was the first time she competed in a meet with prelims and finals. On Sunday she made the finals in 2 events, which meant we had to hang around for several hours and then she had to swim the events again. One of the events was the 200 IM so that was a challenge to swim a second time. She was able to place in the finals and get her first individual ribbons at Bearcats which was VERY exciting for her. Also exciting was that she was able to spend some time with an awesome senior swimmer(Mackenzie in the last picture) on her team who was so good to her. She was able to give her words of wisdom and pump her up when one of her second swims was off her best time. It was a long weekend, but like almost everything we do for our kids worth it when you see their happiness!
