So I could have titled this blog post the longest day ever or as one of our friends put it "the least favorite day of the year". We were at this swim meet for 7 hours, yet Ellie was racing for under 5 minutes. Even if you count in watching all of her relays it still adds up to under 10 minutes of swimming for the whole day. But she loves it so I have to say I will do it all again next summer if she wants. In fact at one point she looked over at all the chaos and said, "I love this". She swam the IM and freestyle relay. For individual events she swam free, back and fly. Her freestyle relay got 5th place so she even got a ribbon(they give up to 6th place in this meet because there are so many swimmers). When the meet was over we went home for a little down time and then went to Red Robin for my family birthday dinner.
It started out very overcast and the swimmers were pretty cold. But did this deter Ellie, of course not.
This is just a bit of the craziness. We figured there were at least 200 swimmers plus all their parents. That's a lot of people at a pool that wasn't that big.
Go Ellie Go! Wow Liz, You are a REALLY GOOD MOM!!! 7 hours for 10 minutes of seeing your own child swim???? I think I would have had to fake sick for that one! Ha ha (just kidding)
